Sorry for the lack of posts this week! My only excuse is it has been my first week of Art College!!!
Starting a new college where you don't know anyone is always going to be pretty terrifying and exhuasting, with the horendous nerves on the first day, then the awkward conversations and meetings... But I have really enjoyed my first week!
The icebreakers we did have definately helped! There was all sorts of things - the more common 'line up in height order' and 'line up in order of your age' but also some really creative ones! We had to draw the person oppsite us on an A1 sheet, their face filling up the whole page, with a thick marker pen, with our non-dominant hand! You can imagine the horendous outcomes, but it definately lifted a lot of tension in the room!
We also did lots of team-building activites too, like making a gaint head out of paper and amsking tape. They were certainly something!
I like catching the train everyday to, and having some time just to read a book or catchup with work. It's so nice to have a fresh start and meet so many new, wonderful people.
I"m also intrigued as to what I'm doing next week - all I have been told is what equipment ot bring in, and it consists of: 2 5ft garden ganes, a pineapple, a garlic, some old scraps of material e.g. bubble wrap, cardboard, sponges etc, a toileit brush, a tooth brush and a decorators brush! It's an odd selection, but it will be exciting to see what we do with it!
